Roger Hicks may not have been “Sooner born and Sooner bred,” but Michigan native Roger Hicks is filled with the Oklahoma spirit as much as any native son of the nation’s 46th state. He joined BCBS of Michigan in 1966 as a Marketing Supervisor, his performance allowed him to progress to Account Executive with jumbo clients to include major manufacturers, national accounts, auto groups, and the University of Michigan. He returned to the home office as Associate Director of Government Programs and Performance Contracting with clients to include the Social Security Administration, the State of Michigan, CHAMPUS, the Federal Employee Program and the UAW Community Health Association HMO a/k/a Metropolitan Health Plan. In 1978 Roger relocated his family to Oklahoma the place of residence of his paternal grandparents and a place he grew to love as a child. He continued his career in the BlueCross BlueShield system as the Sales Manager for the Western District of Oklahoma. In 1981 Roger assumed the position of Executive Director and later President of the Delta Dental Plan of Oklahoma. During Roger’s watch the Delta Dental Plan of Oklahoma grew seven-fold and became known as a leader and innovator within the Delta Dental Association of Plans. In 1984, Roger Hicks formed Roger Hicks & Associates Group Insurance, Inc.
One of Roger’s principals is to be more than owner and president of a successful corporation, he insists upon a philosophy of total commitment to the wants and needs of the client and to the wants and needs of the client’s employees and their dependents. Roger further insists upon taking the lead on all large client enrollments and re-enrollments. All clients of all size are bid every year to assure maximum return from the client’s investment. Roger is considered an authority of government regulatory requirements and case law and he translates his knowledge into an assurance of compliance for the client.

Larry Willoughby is a licensed health agent who is experienced in client and community relations. Prior to joining the Agency, Larry owned and operated his own business, PSAWest, for 25 years. Larry handles all group and individual products, including life, health, dental and supplemental product offerings. Larry also markets individual health and Medicare Supplemental insurance.
Larry joined Roger Hicks and Associates in 2001 and enjoys meeting with his clients and assisting them with all of their health insurance needs. Larry is a experienced agent and a key player and he works diligently to share his experience and business acumen with our clients and their employees and family members.

Manager, Benefits for Dealers program
It’s been more than a quarter century since Joe Mock entered the group-insurance business. During that time, he has worked for two carriers. With CIGNA, he specialized in fully-insured health coverage for middle-market and larger accounts. With Entrust, he worked primarily on self-insured medical programs for groups of all sizes.
Joe has also spent considerable time with insurance agencies, but it was his years working for CIGNA and Entrust that put him in a position to be most helpful to his current clients. “I wouldn’t trade the 14 years I spent with carriers for anything,” Mock pointed out. “I’m a more effective advocate for my clients when solving their problems and negotiating with insurers and TPAs because I speak their language.” Further, because he worked for both a large insurer and a TPA, his knowledge of self-insured approaches is as solid as his experience with traditional insurance.
He also offers special expertise for auto dealerships, as he implemented and serviced benefit plans for dealerships under the Ford Blue Oval Healthcare Initiative for much of the past decade. “I bet I’ve conducted more enrollment meetings at auto dealerships than anyone in America,” he says with pride.
Joe joined forces with Roger Hicks at the beginning of 2011, creating the subsidiary of Mock Hicks & Associates. His base of operations is in Round Rock, Texas. He holds two degrees from West Virginia University, and is the president of the local WVU alumni chapter in Texas. He is also on the Board of Directors of his church. Joe is licensed for Life and Health in Arizona, California, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia.
As the agency's Operations Manager, Melanie offers our clients and their employees a wealth of experience in insurance matters. For 15 years, she worked in Sales and Service for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma. There, she was the year's top sales producer five times, and was in the top 10% of all of the nation's health producers for three years running.
She also served as Sales & Marketing Director for a state-based PPO, and as Benefits Manager for a professional employer organization (PEO). In the latter position, Melanie negotiated contracts with prospective clients and managed the marketing and administrative staffs. Melanie was also part of the implementation team for the startup of an Oracle Software Program.
In addition to her Operations responsibilites at Roger Hicks & Associates, she also handles sales for employer groups with fewer than 50 employees.
She resides in Edmond with her husband Shan, who is a well-known sculptor. Communication is certainly a strong attribute of Melanie's, as witnessed by her degree in English with a minor in Public Relations from Oklahoma State University.
Mike McCormick comes to Roger Hicks & Associates following a 30 year career in Information Technology management and consulting in the Fortune 500. He brings to our agency a wealth of experience and insight into how technology is and will transform healthcare and insurance for large and small businesses. Moreover, he shares our vision and understands that insurance and technology are simply the tools we use – our mission is to help people live healthier, more enjoyable and productive lives.
Mike is also a licensed health and life agent and is guiding our new business development activities and thoroughly enjoying meeting and working with new business prospects to find ways to help lower cost and improve benefits for their group insurance plans, especially in the new world of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Mike lives in Edmond OK with his wife Linda, also a Roger Hicks Associate!

Bev is our client service representative – the front line in client and insured support and service for all of our client’s needs. Beyond marketing group insurance, the Roger Hicks agency’s goal is to partner with our clients to provide human resource solutions. We also provide “wellness” information and services to improve the health and quality of life of our clients and their employees. After the sale, Bev continues the on-going interface and support contact with each client and insured to make sure we achieve that goal. She brings an extensive and diversified background of experience in the healthcare industry and pharmaceutical specialty sales. Before joining Roger Hicks & Associates in 2007, she was Executive Sales Manager for Bristol Myers Squibb where she was in the top 5% of sales force for 10 years. She has a BS in Marketing & Management from OSU.
Renee brings to Roger Hicks & Associates a wealth of experience in both administration and the medical field, a winning combination when it comes to understanding and assisting our clients with their insurance needs. She serves as the primary coordinator between our agency and the insurers -- translating client census and coverage needs into requests for proposal and following through the RFP process with all medical, dental, life, vision and disability carriers. She also handles the administration of our client database. Renee is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who has worked in both physicians’ offices and hospitals.
Reception & Administrative Support
Linda serves as the “face” of the Roger Hicks Agency to our customers, providers and associates. As our receptionist and administrative support contact, she is the friendly voice on the phone and in our lobby that helps you find answers to your insurance needs. As your front-line contact, she answers questions and solves problems in many benefit areas, including premium and policy issues. She can expedite putting you directly in contact with Roger or the team member best suited to meet your needs.
Sales & Support
Suzanne brings strong customer-service and administrative skills to her in-house support position at Roger Hicks & Associates. Her duties include completing Medicare Secondary Payer forms for employers, preparing materials for our clients' open enrollments and fielding questions and solving problems for callers to the agency. Before joining our firm in February of 2011, Suzanne spent 11 years dealing with the public in a retail environment.
Suzanne studied general business at the University of Oklahoma. She settled in Edmond in 1989, and that's where she still resides with her husband and their two sons, both of whom are studying at OU.
Tom has been a Life and Health insurance agent for 41 years. His experience and expertise in the field serves his clients well as he is extremely knowledgeable and understands his clients' needs. He is adept at assessing the insurance and financial needs of his clients, including personal life insurance, business life and estate planning.
Tom is also quite active in the community. He is an elder at the First Christian Church of El Reno, a member of the Oklahoma Association of Insurance and Financial Planners, the Oklahoma State Alumni Association and the Oklahoma State "O" Club. In addition to being a graduate of Oklahoma State, Tom also earned a Masters Degree at North Texas.
He has been married to his wife Judy for 51 years. His daughter Rebecca works for Chesapeake Energy. Tom's hobby is golf.

The route Bruce took to became an agent at Roger Hicks & Associates was somewhat unorthodox. As president of Frontier Food Service Management, he was Roger's client for 20 years. Roger saw that Bruce cared deeply about his employees, and he had an uncommon knowledge of employee benefits, enrollments and insurance matters. When the time came for a change for Bruce in 2009, he joined our agency. Since then, he's built a strong book of business of small employers. As he puts it, "Being a small businessman myself for so long, I have a great feel for what the owner of a small business needs. This gives my clients a certain comfort level with me because I've walked in their shoes."
He grew up in Illinois, and received a degree from Western Illinois University. He's lived in Oklahoma for the past 30 years. Bruce and Mona, his wife of 40 years, have two grown children.
Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Mustang, OK, Michael Denton is one of Oklahoma's more seasoned, trial-tested attorneys in the employment-law arena. That makes him a very valuable member of the Roger Hicks & Associates team.
Michael holds a B.S. Degree from Southwest Oklahoma State and a law degree from the University of Oklahoma. He's been licensed to practice law in the state since 1991.
He's served in the Norman Municipal Court and as an associate at four area law firms. In 1998, he opened the Denton Law Firm, which currently consists of four attorneys and four full-time support-staff members. The office is located at 925 West Highway 152, Mustang, OK 73064. He is also a guest lecturer at Northeastern Oklahoma State University.
Michael is a member of both the Employment Law and Family Law sections of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He's also a member of the Employment Rights Section of the American Association of Justice, as well as the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Oklahoma Employment Law Association.
He served in the US Army with a Military Occupation Specialty of 19K (Armor Crewman). Michael and his wife Kristin reside in Mustang. They have three sons.
